Katie Ellis

Marketing Director, RJE

We’re excited to welcome Katie to MDLF! Katie works as Marketing Director at RJE and lives in Indianapolis.

About Katie:

Hello all! I’m Katie Ellis and I’m the Marketing Director at RJE, a workplace solutions firm based in downtown Indy. I’m a proud double Boilermaker, with undergrad degrees in Communications & Entrepreneurship, and I’m currently pursuing my MBA through their weekend program. I’m incredibly passionate about bettering Indy through non-profit support and proudly work with United Way of Central Indiana, Women’s Fund of Central Indiana and other organizations through various programs and committees. I’m a lifelong learner and lover of good content, so I’m constantly absorbing – books, articles, podcasts, documentaries, panel events, you name it. I’m so excited to dive into the MDLF Fellowship program and work with such incredible minds to move our state forward.

Outside of my professional/philanthropic/student life, my husband Trent and I love taking our dog, Franklin, just down the street from our home to Holliday Park. We also love to host people in our home – game nights, barbecues, dinner parties and the like – and try to do so at least once or twice a month. As for me, if I’m not studying, you can find me working through my to-be-read pile or meeting friends for coffee at Hubbard & Cravens.

What's your vision for Indiana? How does this relate to your decision to join the program?

My vision is that Indiana becomes a known hub for incredible innovation and advancement, unmatched education, inspiring events and tourism, a thought leader and driver of equity and inclusion, and a wonderful place to raise a family. The key word in that is “known” – I truly believe that Indiana already has many of those attributes and needs strong, vocal advocates to recognize that across the country. From what I’ve seen, MDLF uses their platform to strongly and vocally advocate for the advancement of the state and I wanted to be part of that effort.
